Renting vs. Buying
In the matter of renting vs. buying, it's easy to find information on why buying is a better option. But are there any cases where it's better to rent than to own? Sometimes, yes. Owning a home is really only a sound financial decision when you plan to stay there for at least a few years. Otherwise, depending on property taxes, closing costs, and home maintenance costs, it can actually end up being cheaper to rent.
The best part about renting, however, is simply the flexibility it offers. You can find a lease for almost any term you need. You can even find an apartment that comes already furnished. And if you need to move out at a moment's notice, although you may have to pay a fee to break your lease, you don't have to worry about listing a house and making mortgage payments while you wait for it to sell. If you're not quite ready to "settle down" yet, renting is probably a better option than buying.
